Boxfish could "change how people use television."

image

4.6.2012—We got a great article from across the pond by tech writer Richard Chapman about Boxfish on i.doubt.it. The noteworthy thing about Chapman’s observations is that he gets what potential there is in the information our engine provides. The press we’ve been getting lately has been great, indicative of the potential Boxfish has in impacting how we interact with our TVs.

"Boxfish Live" is Live!

Boxfish Deploys It’s Test-Run of “Boxfish Live” interface

4.6.2012—While we have had an open beta here at Boxfish for about a month now, we are constantly improving and adding new innovations to our service. It goes with turning TV into an information tool, and not the box that your mom warned would rot your brain if you stared at it for too long. One of those new innovations is Boxfish Live.

Boxfish Live allows you to run multiple searches of TV content side-by-side, while updating the results in real time. Likewise, you can make changes to what you are searching within Boxfish Live itself. It’s a concise way to manage your searches and find the television content that you care about.

We are in an age where a smartphone or tablet device accompanies you everywhere, even when you are watching TV. Boxfish Live can alert you through your device about when something you are about is on TV, as it happens.

Although we are testing the waters with this new addition to our service, we are excited to see how people take to it. This is just one of the many ideas we hope to integrate into Boxfish and the way people interact with television. Feedback is always welcomed and the there is more to come, so stay tuned—pun intended.

Santorum Second in Mentions After Winning LA.

Romney Is Still The Most Mentioned After Losing In The South

3.26.2012—A win in Louisiana has not put Rick Santorum ahead of Mitt Romney in mentions on television, according to TV information engine, Boxfish.com. Although, newly invigorated, Santorum is still trailing Romney in television mentions 466 to Romney’s 512 in the last 24 hours.

Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul are third and fourth in mentions among the four candidates, positions they have been occupying since the Arizona Debate on Feb. 22. Boxfish.com’s data shows that Gingrich is over 300 mentions behind Santorum at 119. Congressman Paul lingers at a very distant fourth place at just 46 mentions of television, being the least-mentioned candidate on TV in the GOP race.

With this week being something of a bi-week for the GOP race, it will be the actions and quotes of the GOP candidates that will drive campaign discussion for the next seven days, rather than primary and caucus outcomes. Keep an eye out on what these four might get up to and how it impacts television.
